Custom portraits are a lovely and thoughtful gift for friends and family. All portraits are hand-drawn and painted using watercolour and inks.

 

Portrait Painting Commission Process

It’s Easy!

Artists can over-complicate things sometimes! So I prefer to keep the process as simple as possible.

Step 1 – Scope Discussion

Contact me and let’s discuss your vision i.e. formal painting, informal, mood, setting, size, number of people, deadline, etc. so I can send you a quote.

Step 2 – Place your Order

Should you accept the quote, I will send you a link for you to pay a deposit.

Please note: paintings worth up to €120 will have to be paid in full. For all the other paintings, a 50% deposit will be required at this stage, while the rest of the payment will be expected before shipping.

Step 3 – Completion of the Painting

Sharing progress pictures is my primary way of working as I complete your commission. I start every commission with a rough sketch. I will send you a picture of it to make sure you like the composition and for your final approval. I will then move to the colouring stage with watercolour paintings and inks. At this point, the watercolour is finished but a maximum of 2 small details can still be adjusted if needed (like adding a little element in a corner or darkening a colour).

Step 4 – Delivery

Upon completion of the painting (usually 2 weeks to 2 months depending on complexity), the remaining balance for orders above €120 is due in full prior to shipping. Your unframed portrait can be shipped, delivered, or picked up at my studio.

CUSTOM PORTRAITS
You will get a hand-painted original painting on a premium & slightly textured paper.          Copies in several formats (postcard, A5 or A4) available upon request.
